About Maths

Maths is either you hate it or love it.

It involves subjects as follows:
  • Algebra
  • Multiplication
  • Division
  • Additions
  • Fractions
  • Subtractions
And etc...

However, the subject I will discuss today will be about Algebra.

Algebra
Algebra is about finding the unknown or it is about putting real life problems into equations and then solving them. Unfortunately many textbooks go straight to the rules, procedures and formulas, forgetting that these are real life problems being solved.
A branch of mathematics that substitutes letters for numbers. An algebraic equation represents a scale, what is done on one side of the scale with a number is also done to the other side of the scale. The numbers are the constants. Algebra can include real numbers, complex numbers, matrices, vectors etc..
Here is an example of how to solve an Algebra equation:
For example, this linear equation:  x + 1 = 4 means that when we add 1 to the unknown value, ‘x’, the answer is equal to 4.
For this example, we only need to subtract 1 from both sides of the equation in order to isolate 'x' and solve the equation:
x + 1 - 1 = 4 - 1
Now simplifying both sides we have:
x + 0  = 3
So:
x = 3
